Day 1: Nairobi

Jambo! Transfer to our hotel and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime.

Day 2: Nairobi > Lake Nakuru

Meet your fellow travelers and Local Leader before heading to Lake Nakuru National Park, in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. After lunch, we’ll venture out on our first exhilarating game drive. Lake Nakuru is home to the Big Five, so keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent beasts! (b, l, d)

Day 3: Lake Nakuru > Lake Naivasha

A short journey brings us to Lake Naivasha — one of the few freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley and home to many hippos and a vast variety of birds. The afternoon is yours to do as you wish. (b, l, d)

Day 4: Lake Naivasha

Design your day with a variety of optional activities — whether it’s Hell’s Gate National Park for a hike, or renting a bike to make your own discoveries. (b, l, d)

Day 5: Lake Naivasha > Maasai Mara

An experience alongside the Maasai people takes us inside a traditional Maasai home, where we meet with a local elder who shares their history and culture. After arriving at our tented camp, we’ll head out on our afternoon Mara game drive and explore the sparse open plains, dramatic skies and some of the world’s most tremendous animals. (b, l, d)

Day 6: Maasai Mara

Early this morning you may opt for a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the reserve — a truly unforgettable experience. Explore the Mara with a full day of game drives. (b, l, d)

Day 7: Maasai Mara > Lake Victoria

Venture to the shores of Lake Victoria — the largest tropical lake in the world. After a full day of travel, relax and unwind, or explore the lake’s stunning surroundings. (b, l, d)

Day 8: Lake Victoria > Serengeti

A short drive brings us to the Serengeti! Enjoy a picnic lunch before a thrilling game drive en route to our camp. Being here, it’s clear why the plains got their name from the Maasai word “Siringet,” — “The place where the land moves on forever.” (b, l, d)

Day 9: Serengeti

A balloon ride over the park here is optional. Ascend and watch the early morning movements of teeming herds. The rest of the day is full of inspiring game drives. (b, l, d)

Day 10: Serengeti > Karatu

We’ll enjoy a game drive on our way out of the park before arriving at the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. Widely regarded as a microcosm of natural habitats, we’ll see an extensive amount of wildlife as we journey to the crater floor. Our lodge tonight is on the rim of the crater. (b, l, d)

Day 11: Karatu > Zanzibar

A morning game drive sets our stage as we leave the compelling plains and make our way to the city of Arusha. Fly to the “Spice Island” of Zanzibar. Relax or explore the bazaars, shops, mosques and palaces in the area on foot — the best way! (b)

Day 12: Zanzibar > Nungwi

The white sands and blue waters of the Indian Ocean are waiting for us. We’ll drive a short distance to the spectacular north coast, stopping at a spice plantation to get an insider’s look at the town’s renowned spice trade. (b)
